# Suggested Formulas

This screen displays all the optional treatments involving Chinese Herbal Formulas, resulting from the analysis and filtering process. The screen displays all the optional treatments and allows you to select from them. It also organizes them and supports further filtering**.**

** **

Clicking on any formula from the list displays information in the boxes to its right. The Description of the formula, including its Category, Functions, Indications, Pulse, Tongue and Contraindications**, **is displayed in the text box in the middle. The right box displays all the herbs that compose the formula and their dosage. Double clicking on a herb opens the screen of the herb, where additional information is available.

__Ordering a Formula__

You may order Formulas from the list. After selecting the Formulas needed for treatment, fill out an Order Form. The selected formulas can be listed automatically in the Order Form, using either of the following methods:

**1) **Double clicking on a formula from the list opens the Construct/Order Formula screen. The screen automatically displays the selected formula. From this point, you can continue filling out the form as usual.

** **

**2) **Marking the check box of a Formula, and then clicking on the [Ok] button, saves the formula in the computer’s memory. After the confirmation, you can select the Construct/Order Formula option from the Wizard Menu. The selected formulas automatically appear in the Suggestions** **drop down list.** **

** **

The [Filter Indexes] button displays the syndromes and the symptoms that determined or influenced the recommendations. They may be syndromes and symptoms that were selected throughout the diagnosis, or added by the system as possible references. Mark the checkboxes of the selected** s**yndromes or symptoms, in order to filter the diagnosis results and narrow down the list of Suggested Formulas.

Another filter option is filtering by Functions and Categories. The Functions and Categories found in the drop down lists are related to the current list** **of Suggested Formulas. Select a Function or Category in order to narrow down the list to the relevant formulas.

A graph, displayed at the bottom of the screen, represents the number of times the formulas have repeated themselves throughout the process of making the lists. This feature is especially helpful when there are many formulas on the list. This visualization helps you trace the formulas, which appear most frequently in the crosschecks. The frequency does not necessarily imply which treatment is required, however, the graph may hint which formulas should be considered before others.

Clicking on one of the frequency histograms of the graph highlights the related formula on the list with a blue stripe.

You can hide the graph by clicking on the [Graph Off] button. You can display the graph again by clicking on the same button – now labeled [Graph On].

It is possible to change the appearance of the graph by using the buttons at the bottom of the screen. You can turn it into a 3D graph, as well as change the default histogram and background colors.

You can resize the display boxes by dragging the mouse**. **Place the mouse** **on the right side of the list and when the cursor changes, you can drag it in order to determine the ratio between the boxes. You can determine the height of the graph by dragging its edges vertically.
